The Original Salzburg Christmas Market
The most well-known Christmas Market in Salzburg is most probably the original Salzburg Christmas Market. It takes place on the perimeter of Salzburg cathedral. On the cathedral square and residence square, you can purchase special souvenirs at several festively decorated stalls. It is here where traditional handicraft businesses offer figures for Christmas cribs, frankincense, Advent wreaths and much more. Even those who are feeling peckish are not neglected on the atmospheric Christmas Market. Underneath the cathedral arches, at the beloved “Advent meeting point” you enjoy mulled wine, many varieties of punch as well as sweet and hearty treats.

The Hellbrunn Advent festivities in the courtyard of Hellbrunn Palace is also a major attraction amongst the Christmas Markets in Salzburg. Stall No. 96 at Salzburg's Residence Square
The most famous Christmas market in Salzburg is probably the original Salzburg Christmas market. It takes place around the Salzburg Cathedral. At Domplatz and Residence Square you can buy souvenirs in numerous festively decorated stalls: figures for the Christmas crib, frankincense, Advent garlands and much more are offered here by traditional craftsmen.
